Saco Island

Project: Downtown Revitalization
Location: Saco Island, Maine

After years of sitting empty, a complex of former mill buildings on Saco Island was redeveloped for housing and commercial uses. Part of the overall masterplan of the project is a riverfront park that will allow public access along the Saco River. The park, started in fall 2009, has brick sidewalks, seating areas, plantings, wrought iron fencing along the river, and new period lighting. We completed Phase 2 in 2010 with a major rehabilitation of an extremely overgrown area near Phase 1. Take a look at the completed project.
